a while back we heard about the Maptor which was supposed to be a combination of a Map GPS unit and a projector at the same time. The only problem is that it never actually came into existence. Either because it didn’t get enough hype or because it was to complicated. Regardless of what it was, this idea was actually very interesting.
This small hand held device, was supposed to be about the size of a flashlight, it would contain a GPS unit that would run on Google Maps, and it would also contain a small projector for you to be able to read a map against walls, your hand, or a piece of paper. Maptor was a design concept from Jin-Sun Park and Seon-keun Park so it never actually made it to a construction phase but regardless this looked very good. I wonder if it’s ever going to be able to make it into the civilian world. I need one of these things. The battery life would be horrible on it, and the light would have to be extra strong to be able to see it in the day light. But regardless it’s something that I’ve been waiting for sometime now.
